Job Summary: We are looking for enthusiastic Math and Science Tutors in the Saint John area to join Megan Winters Math Tutoring. As a Math and Science Tutor, you will work with middle and high school students, providing expert guidance in subjects like mathematics, chemistry, physics, and calculus. You will play a crucial role in helping students understand complex concepts, boost their confidence, and excel academically while alleviating test anxiety. Key Responsibilities: Subject-Specific Tutoring: Conduct one-on-one in-person and online tutoring sessions in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and calculus, tailored to the unique learning needs of each student. Confidence Building: Foster a positive and growth-oriented mindset in students, helping them build confidence in their abilities and tackle challenging topics with ease. Test Anxiety Reduction: Develop strategies to help students overcome test anxiety and perform at their best during assessments and exams. Meeting Students Where They're At: Assess students' current knowledge and understanding and adapt tutoring methods to meet them at their current academic level. Homework and Assignment Support: Assist students in completing assignments, projects, and homework, ensuring they grasp fundamental concepts and develop effective study habits. Progress Tracking: Regularly assess students' academic progress, identify areas for improvement, and adjust tutoring strategies accordingly. Effective Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with students and their parents to provide progress updates and address any concerns or questions. Resource Development: Create or source supplementary learning materials, worksheets, and exercises to reinforce subject-specific concepts. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in education or mathematics. 2. Proven experience in tutoring, teaching, or education, especially in mathematics. 3. Deep knowledge of NB middle and high school-level curriculum in the specified subjects. 4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. 5. Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds. 6. Strong organizational skills to plan and document online tutoring sessions effectively. 7. A passion for education, skill development, and helping students succeed. 8. Proficiency in using online tutoring platforms and tools. 9. Ability to work in AT and ET zones. Working Conditions:
Flexible hours, enabling you to conduct sessions that accommodate students' schedules, generally late afternoons, evenings and weekends.
In-person tutoring, but also remote opportunities, allowing you to work from your preferred location.
