Supervisor - Referred Care Clinic/Opioid Treatment Services Clinic
This posting This posting will be used to fill one (1) permanent full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly at the Referred Care Clinic (RCC)/ Opioid Treatment Services Clinic (OTSC) with Mental Wellness Substance Use Services. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list to fill similar positions. The job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon. Who we are The Government of Yukon's Mental Wellness and Substance Use Services division is known for its innovative, holistic, trauma informed and culturally accessible approach to providing mental health and substance use supports to all Yukoners. We aim to provide clients with the highest level of care and a healthy workplace for staff. Mental Wellness and Substance Use Services offers a goal focused approach to providing harm-reduction or recovery-based services for all individuals seeking to reduce the symptoms of mental wellness and/or substance use issues. The Referred Care Clinic is a primary care clinic and houses Opioid Treatment and various outreach services. Your role RCC Registered Nurse Supervisor provides leadership, administrative, and clinical and casework supervision to the team. The supervisor works collaboratively with the Managers and Director to establish guidelines for practice and emerging best practices in the field of mental health and substance use, including screening, assessment, treatment, consultation, and education. The position is responsible for program development, clinical supervision, direction and training, file audits, and other quality assurance and improvement initiatives. It will be expected that the Supervisor will maintain their credentialing with the professional body and may be required to provide direct client service as needed. Provides individual treatment to selected clients that ranges from providing education about mental and/or physical illness, supportive therapy, teaching skills to recognize and manage symptoms, monitoring symptoms, assessing side effects of drug therapy, and/or providing consultation to co-workers or colleagues.

Current and active registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority.
Recently applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices & techniques acquired through work experience as a Registered Nurse.
Significant supervisory experience leading a team in a Registered Nurse capacity would be considered an asset;
Experience working in a mental health or substance use setting

RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check
WHMIS 2015 (completed within 3 months of hire)
Current Registration with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA)
Valid class 5 driver’s licence
Job requirements This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
Direct contact with clients including those who may be upset, aggressive or suicidal;
Exposure to latex gloves;
Potential exposure to second hand smoke or people who have recently used substances
Occasional travel within Yukon
