Security Supervisor

National Port Security Services (NPSS) provides security services across Canada, including Charlottetown, PEI.

We currently have an opportunity for a Field Security Supervisor in Charlottetown, PEI.
Qualifications:
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be legally allowed to work in Canada.
  • Possess office administrative skills such as Excel, Web-based data entry.
  • Be able to pass provincial and federal security background checks.
  • Have excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license & own vehicle.
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
1. Performs the duties of a Security Guard/Supervisor in accord with post orders and company policy.
2. Audits Guards compliance in accordance with company and site duties, uniforms and personal protective equipment.
3. Provides lead direction at assigned client site(s) on assigned shift(s); acts to ensure that post orders are followed, that established rounds are completed, and that adequate reports are filed; notifies proper authorizes and client in emergency situations.
4. May counsel and discipline personnel as appropriate; seeks advice from company management or designated representatives as appropriate; meets personally with employees and documents counseling and disciplinary actions.
5. Assists in the training of Security Guards and review of post orders.
6. Assists in the submission of payroll and personnel information to the company as designated.
7. In conjunction with company management or designated company representatives acts to ensure adequate security coverage of all posts.
8. Creates, augments, and maintains scheduling for all sites in accordance with business needs.
9. Prepares, files, and submits various reports as required.
10. Inspects posts as scheduled and meets with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities.
11. Meets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service
12. As assigned, in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures and in compliance with provincial and federal laws, carries out lead or supervisory duties that can include some or all of the following: interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and, making hiring and termination recommendations.
13. Assess, maintain, and address employee code of conduct compliance.
14. Ensure conduct is always in compliance with customer services standards set forth by the company.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 20 per week
