The Systems Administrator,Security Specialist will be a key contributor to the IT Infrastructure team, helping maintain and protect critical systems that support 1700+ connected users North America-wide. Working closely with our Systems Administrator team, Technology Risk team, and Senior Manager IT Infrastructure. You will be in a hands-on, technical position responsible for day-to-day configuration, management, and operationalization of a security mindset in support of our organizational progression towards greater maturity in information security.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Administer and optimize Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Entra ID.
Manage the IT Security configuration for operating systems and cloud environments.
Collaborate with other teams within IT and the business to deploy security controls in a non-disruptive manner.
Bring a security champion mindset to Cloud, SAAS, and physical computer management.
Collaborate with system administrators and IT teams to enforce security policies and configurations; work with external vendor resources on outsourced implementations.
Addressing and resolving risk and compliance related issues with support and direction from the Technology Risk team.
Primary technical contact for MSSP: You will work on a daily basis with our MSSP to manage alerts and tickets.
Investigate potential security incidents, work as part of Infrastructure team on remediation efforts.
Maintain alignment in practice with the CIS security framework and/or NIST CSF.
Research, planning, staying up to date on latest technologies and resiliency strategies.
ESXi, Hyper-V, and Azure support.
Our Ideal Candidate will possess:
An Information Technology-related Degree, Diploma or Certification.
5+ years experience with: Windows Server, Enterprise Virtualization, Public Cloud, Cyber Security, and Networking.
Experience in administration of Microsoft 365 is considered an asset.
Experience applying security control frameworks such as CIS or NIST.
Good working knowledge of ITIL practices & processes and Change & Release Management frameworks.
Ability to assess and communicate risk.
Attention to detail and effective planning and organizational skills.
