Recreation Attendant Reporting to the Recreation Coordinator, the Recreation Attendant is responsible for supporting the delivery of sports and leisure programs to enhance the quality of community life. Responsibilities Recreation Management. As directed by the Recreation Coordinator, participates in the planning, design, promotion, management, and execution of recreation, fitness, and social activities. This includes assisting with bookings and the record-keeping of users. Event Management. As directed by the Recreation Coordinator, provides general support for the planning, design, promotion, and execution of shows, exhibitions, concerts, celebrations, and other events. Recreation Resources Management. Ensures that recreation resources (e.g., equipment, supplies, tools, uniforms, etc.) are stored in a well-organized, safe, and secure way to preserve their useful life and to prevent theft. Supports the procurement of new recreation resources. User Fee Collection. Supports the collection of recreation user fees by using the systems and following the rules that are defined by the Treasurer. Contact Management. Maintains a Contact Database of past, present, and prospective participants, users, user groups, supporters, organizations (e.g., ball leagues), and stakeholders, in support of planning and communications. Facility Cleanliness, Access, Security. Ensures that recreation facilities are clean and clutter-free and that all facility resources (equipment, tools, supplies, etc.) are stored in a safe and well-organized manner. Ensures that recreation facilities are safe and secure, and protected from unauthorized entry and unsupervised and improper use. Ensures that recreational facilities are fully compliant with applicable public health and safety codes and standards. Other. On an emergency or special basis, supports facility maintenance to supplement Public Works, for example, by lining ballfields and soccer fields or running the Zamboni to prepare the ice surface. Issues Special/Emergency Requests to Public Works to address any high priority, special, or emergency task to be performed that falls outside the seasonal plans. Process to be defined. As directed by the Recreation Coordinator, contributes to the development of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the quality, safety, and security of recreational programs, resources, and facilities. Qualifications · Knowledge of best practices in the planning and administration of recreational programs. · Able to work with people of various age groups · The ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings and weekends depending on season and activities. · Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook. · Basic knowledge of social media applications, including Facebook and Instagram.
