Project Supply Chain Manager


Role Overview
Reporting to the Director, Projects- Lynn Lake, the Project Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for providing overall leadership and management for all matters associated with equipment/material procurement and all construction/service contract awards. This ownership exists through the entire project life cycle phases, encompassing detail engineering design, RFP and evaluation stages, through contract formation and award, expediting, final delivery to site and all on-site construction activities. The Supply Chain Manager will be a senior leader within the Alamos Lynn Lake project team and takes responsibility for ensuring all ethics and compliance requirements are met regards supply chain processes. The role will include the requirements to create and adjust Supply Chain processes and procedures and will have routine need to travel to the project site for meeting etc.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
  • Materials Procurement: Sourcing and purchasing materials for construction projects. This includes RFX suite preparation, contract negotiation, contract establishment and execution as well as standard procurement requirements though requisition and purchase order establishment.
  • Construction Contracts: Manage the award process from scope development through bid list development to RFP bidding, evaluation and to final contract formation.
  • Develop and maintain project procurement and contracting plans and timelines (schedules)
  • Vendor Management: Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers/contractors and subcontractors
  • Logistics Coordination and Management: Scheduling and coordinating the delivery of materials to project locations from around the world.
  • Inventory management: Monitoring and managing inventory levels to ensure materials are available as required.
  • Project Planning: Collaborating with all project managers to plan and schedule all supply chain / construction support activities.
  • Cost Control: Managing budgets and negotiations as required to control cost.
  • Quality Assurance: Working closely with construction field personnel on quality standards and project specifications. This would include reporting and filing of all quality assurance issues with vendors.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks related to supply chain disruptions (including site identified risks)
  • Data Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data to improve supply chain efficiency and performance


Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience Requirements :
  • University degree in resource management or a related field of study;
  • Minimum experience of 15 years in large mining/industrial projects in the design and construction phases, ideally based in an EPCM or owner organization;
  • Experience in negotiating procurement and construction contract terms and conditions
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in a supervisory role;
  • Experience in managing a team of procurement and construction contract specialists and buyers;
  • Detailed knowledge of procurement phased buying processes deployed for large industrial and mining projects;
  • Familiar with the development of construction contract strategies;
  • Proficient knowledge of purchasing and inventory procedures;
  • Ability to demonstrate sophisticated negotiating skills and strong leadership;
  • Able to be flexible, decisive and use superb judgment in decision making;
  • Effective ability to convey messages in an organized, clear and succinct way;
  • The individual should have a high level of energy, self-motivation and strong organization skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal ability together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a coordinated team effort; and
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Education
Preferred
  • Master's degree or better in Supply Chain Management
  • Bachelor's degree or better in Supply Chain Management
