Job Overview:
Parachutes for Pets is looking for a versatile and motivated individual to join our team as a part-time Sales Associate at You Thrifty Animal, our pet store located in Kensington, and a Project Manager/Support Specialist at the Pet Advocacy Center. This role will focus on a combination of retail sales, inventory management, exceptional customer service, coordinating donation pickups and drop-offs, and providing administrative support as needed.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and step in to assist wherever necessary. This part-time position offers the potential for growth into a full-time role. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and execute donation pick-ups and drop-offs (must have a valid driver’s license, drivers abstract required)
Liaise with partners and maintain stakeholder relationships
Part Time Thrift Sales Associate
Engage with customers to provide exceptional customer service
Utilize product knowledge to assist customers in finding the right pet productions, while educating on Parachutes for Pets
Accept donations
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Process transactions accurately and efficiently
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly
Events assistant when required
Responsible for set up and tear down of booth and mobile thrift at events
Engage with customers, education of Parachutes for Pets
Administrative Assistant
General administrative tasks including entering client data, reporting on sales
Create monthly newsletters
Tax receipts and mail out campaigns
Social Media Assistant
Content creation, posts and reels
Monitor social media accounts
Skills:
Ability to work independently
Experience in retail, POS experience (Square), including cash handling and customer service
Proficiency in Google Workspace, Sheets, Docs and Forms
Ability to learn new computer software quickly such as Time To Pet, Monday, Sales Force, Slack, Ticketing Platforms etc.
Comfortable working around pets (cats and dogs)
Strong communication and multitasking skills
Ability to wok in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing tasks
Basic graphic design
Basic website editing, including uploading content and images
Knowledge of social media platforms, basic understanding of posts and reels.
