Classification Summary - Union
A Police Services Coordinator provides administrative support to the Police Services and RCMP senior management team and coordinates training, programs, projects and special events for the RCMP. The Police services Coordinator is distinguished from the other clerical and administrative support classifications by the scope of the “coordination role” required in support of senior management and the level of autonomy and problem-solving in the work, necessitating a greater level of expertise and experience.
Duties - Union
- Provides general administrative duties and executive administrative support to the Police Services and RCMP senior leadership team.
- Coordinates policing for special events and participates on the City Events Planning Committee.
- Analyzes data, legislation and policy, and approves or declines special occasion license applications.
- Develops and prepares special projects documents and policing agreements.
- Responds to enquiries from community event stakeholders, special occasion applicants, Police Services employees, RCMP members and external agencies.
- Manages law enforcement notifications.
- Schedules and organizes training/workshops.
- Coordinates, researches, compiles and edits information in support of reports, correspondence and presentations.
- Liaises with City staff at all levels, as well as external organizations to coordinate timely response and exchange of information.
