East Coast - FIFO/Camp, 20/8 rotation, 10hr day shift (Flight Hubs: Moncton, Hamilton, Halifax, St. John's)
OPERATIONAL
Apply thermal insulation to piping, fittings, and equipment as directed by your supervisor
Apply sheet metal or flexible jacketing to the insulation system fitted to manufactured items (piping, fittings, equipment, etc.) as directed by your supervisor and in-line with your capabilities
Apply material to piping and fittings as directed by your supervisor in-line with your certification and capabilities
Ensure entry and exit through the work site gates in adherence with approved shift times
Ensure prompt timekeeping and travel to and from work fronts in adherence with approved break times
Action appropriate and safe movement and storage of insulation and sheet metal materials at the work fronts
Strive to optimize productivity and maximize tool time in a safe manner
Interpret and correctly read insulation fabrication drawings and specifications
Demonstrate the capability to measure piping, fittings and equipment for fabrication purposes
Plan and always maintain a good housekeeping regime
Actively support the project’s continuous improvement drive through communication of any such ideas to the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
Must be able to pass Verification of Competency Assessment
Must be able to comply with pre-access drug & alcohol screening and pre-employment medical assessment
Five years of experience, preferable in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or similar related industries (i.e. mining, and/or construction)
Lead Hand roles must demonstrate leadership and organizational skills and be of advanced proficiency in thermal insulation application. Minimum of five years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills (at minimum)
Prior experience on Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) sites, particularly live/operational sites, is highly desirable
Demonstrate practical experience of risk management processes
First Aid qualification is desirable
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket is desirable
Experience interacting with the range of trades and non-trades
Good communicator with the ability to positively work well in a team environment
Willingness to work on a wide range of tasks involving on and off-site work as required

Insulators with sheet metal worker experience contribute to the application of sheet metal to insulation systems fitted to items such as piping, fittings, and equipment
MAIN ACTIVITIES: SAFETY
Ensure adherence of members of the workforce to Altrad Golden Rules and Life Saving Rules (LSR) through continuous mentoring and coaching
Knowledge of onshore statutory safety regulations and permit-to-work systems
Participate in the development of Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) and site risk assessment discussions and adhere to the requirements of risk assessments and permits signed on to
Prompt reporting of any witnessed hazards, near misses, incidents, and/or injuries regardless of how minor
Action and ensure approved barriers and signage is in place prior to the commencement of work, and maintained throughout and removed upon safe completion
Maintain appropriate hydration levels and monitor self for signs of heat stress and take shade breaks when required to always ensure individual safety
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided and RPE if required (must be clean shaven), gloves, ear protection, eye protection, safety boots, UV, and other PPE as required
Monitor the fitness for purpose and signs of wear and tear of PPE and tooling being utilized. Promptly communicate any requirements for replacements to your supervisor
Follow site safety procedures and objectives
Prioritize safety over all else and look out for your colleagues
QUALITY
Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the applicable quality documentation (i.e. specifications)
Handle and utilize sheet metal materials, insulation, industrial mastics, and other insulation ancillaries/consumables in accordance with applicable material safety data sheets (MSDS)
Adhere to Hold points and do not proceed past them until an inspection is successfully completed
Contribute to preliminary quality checks to ensure that the desired quality is met as per specifications prior to invitation for inspection
Promptly alert the supervisor once an insulation system inspection step is complete to a part of a scope of work to allow the supervisor to visually inspect the work and raise an invitation for inspection to the quality inspector
Raise any quality concerns and actively participate in quality discussions
PEOPLE
Participate in pre-starts, de-briefs, and toolbox meetings
Treat all colleagues with respect and demonstrate a commitment towards a team effort. Maintain communication and cooperative relationships within the team and with other personnel on-site
Positively contribute to coordination and interface discussions
Support trainees within the crews if allocated as a mentor/buddy

Safe use of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and site requirements
