HSE Field Coordinator

Midlite Construction LP. is an equal opportunity employer and is actively seeking to fill the position of HSE Field Coordinator working a 21/7 rotation in Northwest Territory from October 16-January 31 temporary contract.

Priority will be given to applicants that are residents of Fort Mc Murray.

Job Description
Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Supporting Project Managers in all aspects of health and safety
Promoting an HSE culture that reflects Midlite’s goals and objectives and is based on the principle of internal responsibility
Monitor HSE compliance for all government legislation, regulatory requirements, client and company policies, procedures and practices
Complete weekly and monthly HSE reporting
Participate in incident investigations and submit the preliminary and final reports to the HSE Manager
Participate in worksite inspections, record, track and follow up corrective actions
Conduct new hire orientations and all applicable HSE training
Book D&A tests as requested
Assist Supervision with reviewing Safe Work Practices and Safe Job Procedures with employees
Assist in development of Safe Work Plans, JSA’s and all applicable HSE related documentation
Attend various Midlite and Client/Site HSE meetings
Preform additional Health and Safety duties as required
Onboarding

  • Assisting with communication of training requirements and site specific information during mobilization process
  • Processing, archiving and submitting completed certifications
  • Assisting with documentation review once new employees arrive – Review of Formal Site Specific Documentation (FPP, PRP, JSA, ERP etc)
  • As a reminder – New Personnel have to be fully mobilized prior to arriving on site, Union Applications completed and submitted, D&A Complete and Results received, all other mobilization documentation


Incidents and Near Misses
  • HSE Personnel Must be engaged in all incidents and any Near Misses that warrant an investigation
  • HSE Personnel will be there to support throughout investigations
  • Scheduling post incident or reasonable cause D&A testing


Booking Training (External)
  • Assisting with coordination and vetting certificates and training providers
  • Booking and requesting PO for payment, or coordination with the office for payment via credit card
  • Communication with 424 to establish reimbursement eligibility
  • Tracking and advising upcoming expiry dates for certifications to On-Site Supervision – Tiffany will be updating the Training Matrix on a monthly basis


Field Inspections and Walkdowns
  • Coordination and support with client HSE Personnel
  • Assistance for field supervision with documentation (worksite inspections, audits etc)


Documentation
  • Assistance with sorting, filing, submission and archiving – please ensure all relevant documentation is filed accordingly in teams and any documentation that needs to be submitted corporately is complete


PPE
  • Assist with order coordination and onsite issuing of PPE
  • Document on PPE log and submit weekly for tracking purposes
  • Fall protection sign out and issue


HSE Resource Allotment – please be advised resources may be required on alternative sites as needed
  • Sherry will be supporting Syncrude Aurora and Base Plant 75/25 split
  • Blair will be supporting Suncor Firebag and Kearl Lake 50/50 split effective Immediately
  • Randy Will be Supporting Cenovus and will be assisting at Syncrude once Cenovus wraps up
  • Amber will be supporting with our NSC Drivers and applicable transportation training


Qualifications

Minimum 5 years Field HSE experience preferably in the Power Line Industry and/or the Oil Sands Industry
Medically and physically able to perform all duties of the position
Self motivator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Effective ability to work with records management systems
Strong presentation/training skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, and HSE Management operating systems
Valid ESC Fall Protection and First Aid Train-the-Trainer certifications considered an asset
Strong English written and verbal communication, investigation, organization, analytical, team building and problem-solving skills
Ability to enforce HSE compliance, foster education and diffuse concerns while promoting Midlite Construction HSE goals and objectives
Post secondary degree or diploma in HSE or related field
NCSO
Valid Standard First Aid certificate
CSTS 2020
CSO
Successful completion of Pre-Employment D&A testing
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean drivers abstract
