Atlantic Canada Field Service Technician

We are industry experts when it comes to x-ray, checkweighing, metal detection, induction sealing, case forming, case packing, labeling, tray forming, palletizing and stretch wrapping.

About the Role:
The Atlantic Canada Field Service Technician is responsible for traveling to customer locations to provide service, maintenance and installation support. The Field Service Technician uses their technical skills to troubleshoot issues when they arise to keep the customer’s equipment functioning properly.
*This role can be based out of anywhere in Atlantic Canada*
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-person and remote service and customer support for a wide array of product packaging and inspection equipment including, but not limited to, x-ray, checkweighing and metal detection.
  • Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.
  • Be on call for customer service as needed.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other members of the service team to troubleshoot issues, brainstorm and share information.
  • Participate in training sessions on new equipment and technology and also to stay current and up to date on existing equipment that we sell/support.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years proven work experience in a similar hands-on service role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background is required
  • Electronic control experience is an asset
  • Packaging background preferred
  • Manufacturing experience is an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to understand issues customers have and to explain technical information to customers in clear terms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical documents such as electrical schematics, line layouts, etc.
  • Time-management skills to handle appointments effectively and stay on schedule.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage emails, internal and customer correspondence as well as maintain filing of technical documents and reports associated with the role.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work schedules.
  • Attention to detail to spot issues and complete accurate reports about the repairs.
  • Working knowledge of office technology, including mobile tools and applications (specific training provided).
  • Valid Canadian Driver’s License, reliable vehicle and ability to travel as needed.
Travel:
This position covers Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island). Overnight travel is required 30-40% of the time. Travel schedules are irregular and based on customer needs.

Pay: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
