This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent part-time position working 30 hours bi-weekly and will also be used to fill anticipatory full-time /part-time permanent, term and auxiliary on-call positions. It will establish a 12-months eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.
This job is based in the community of Carmacks in the beautiful Yukon.

Your role
Under the direction of the Home Support Supervisor the home support worker provides home support services to individual clients of the Yukon Home Care Program to promote optimum level of functioning in the skills and activities of daily living and the quality of life of clients. This position is part of an interdisciplinary team serving each client and communities, supports, and cooperates in the daily implementation and development of clients care plan.

Essential qualifications

• Experience working in Home Care or community-based setting
• Experience providing personal care, home management, and respite care in a community setting.

Candidates who have experiences equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above and/or are compassionate and have a willingness to help community members to age in place will be equally considered.

• Passion for providing care for chronically ill or elderly clients

Conditions of employment
You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.

• TB Screening
• Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security clearance
• CPR level C (within last 18 months)
• Food Safe (within last 2 years)
• WHMIS 2015
• Valid Yukon class 5 driver’s licence are required prior to hire.
