Fire Alarm Technician

As our Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for a wide variety of in-field fire services such as installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, and servicing fire alarm and fire protection systems. Some of the additional expectations of this role include:
  • Performing monthly, semi-annual and annual inspections on fire alarm and fire protection systems.
  • Executing upgrades, repairs, additions or improvements to systems following inspection.
  • Trouble shooting and conducting investigations of various fire alarm and fire protection systems issues and concerns.
  • Installing, verifying and programming of fire alarm systems.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Evaluating plans, customer requests, code, and non-conformance issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers.
  • Preparing materials for daily execution of assigned work orders.
  • Completing daily inspection, verification and deficiencies reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring safe work practices are followed safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job.
  • Mentoring other team members including trainees as assigned.
  • Participating in 24/7 on-call/call out emergency service.

Candidate must also possess the following experience and training credentials:
  • All combinations of education in a related field and experience will be considered
  • 2+ years of field experience installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, and servicing fire alarm and fire protection systems
  • College/trade level education in Electronics or Fire Protection Technology, along with applicable fire service certifications, jurisdictional regulatory permits, and/or valid CFAA would be preferred.
  • Training in various fire alarm systems (e.g. Siemens, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards and Notifier) would be an asset
  • Valid drivers license


Applicants must be able to travel to and work out of remote client sites. Overtime and overnight travel will be required; therefore, hours of work/schedule will vary.
