Expediter Driver/Equipment Operator (Class 1 Driver)
Job Overview
We are a Whitehorse Yukon based Construction Company. We build residential projects ranging from custom and spec homes to multi-family townhouse developments. We have contracts around Yukon in many different communities.
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Expediter Driver/Equipment Operator (Class 1 Driver) to transport equipment and materials to various construction sites while providing on-site support. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, hands-on experience with equipment operation, and be willing to assist with physical labor when required.
Our equipment includes bobcats (T76 and T650 models), a mini excavator, scissor lifts, forklifts, and Pal finger folding boom cranes with capacities up to 10 tons. The candidate should also be comfortable operating our fleet, including a 2024 T880 Kenworth truck, a 2024 Doepker 53ft step deck trailer, as well as other trucks and trailers.
Proficiency in using a digital driver’s daily log and vehicle inspection log is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate a Trucks and Trailers to transport construction equipment and materials to job sites.
- Ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on trucks and equipment.
- Provide general support on construction sites, including but not limited to digging, lifting heavy objects, and operating machinery.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations on the job site.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.
- On demand basis, will be required to do long hauls to pick up materials out of territory (AB/BC).
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class 1, with a clean driving Abstract. Must have Heavy Haul Endorsement and Air Brake endorsement.
- Working Knowledge of Yukon Commercial Vehicle Driving Requirements.
- Knowledge of the National Safety Code Requirements: i.e. hours of service, logbooks, pre-trip inspections, general cargo securement.
- Experience operating trucks and trailers and equipment, such as Skid Steer, Excavators, Forklift, Scissor Lift. Certification for Crane operation would be a definite asset.
- Familiarity with construction equipment and materials.
- Ability to perform physical labor as needed, including lifting heavy objects, digging, and operating machinery.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
