Job Summary

Coordinate linehaul traffic for Overland West Freight Lines

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Essential Functions:

• As part of the linehaul team, establish, modify and execute nightly dispatch plan.
• Update trip sheets & records in the dispatch system, ensuring the accuracy of miles paid and log hours.
• Day to day communication, via phone and ELD, with drivers to ensure proper load instructions are passed along and carried out.
• Communicate with cartage to ensure they meet inbound cut times.
• Manage breakdown situations and follow up with maintenance to ensure that freight is moved through to destination as quickly as possible.
• Monitor all outbound cut-off times to protect service.
• Monitor linehaul driver performance.
• Enlist and coordinate third party carriers to move overflow loads in a cost-efficient manner.
• Track linehaul driver vacation schedules and keep information current

What a successful candidate will bring:

• Experience in linehaul dispatch in the logistic and transportation industry considered an asset
• Familiar with operations related to Long Combination Vehicles (LCV)
• Strong organizational skills, planning skills, and multitasking ability
• A customer service mindset and excellent communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly wage $27.00 - $29.00 per hour.
• Comprehensive benefits package available after successful completion of probationary period including extended medical, prescription, vision and dental coverage and RPP company matching program
