MBW Courier Inc, Part of the Municipal Group of Companies has become a leader in the transportation industry by providing unmatched quality service to our customers and employing quality employees. Our services include Courier Services, Light LTL, and Third-Party Logistics to the province of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland. We are currently looking for a Dispatcher to join our team based out of Truro, NS.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer phone calls for inquiries, payments, pickups
Utilize & Understand Ship Track software – dispatching/tracking/tracing/reporting
Verify time sensitive freight, chain of command
Predict and communicate to customers potential service delays
Predict and adapt route changes to reduce service delays through re-routing jobs
Inquire about and communicate potential sales leads when speaking with a customer about their operation
Understanding of the services that MBW offers (Same Day/Overnight/Direct Drive)
Provide clients with quotes for shipping costs
Learn geography of NS, NB, and PEI as we expand
Interact with drivers to assist when necessary
Act as a team member within MBW Dispatch as well as with other MBW departments
Adhere to MBW Courier Inc. Policies and Procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Special project work as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
2-3 years previous experience in a similar position
Experience with MS Office (Outlook/Excel/Word)
Tech knowledge considered an asset
Previous background in the trucking or courier industry preferred
Report for shift on time and return from breaks on time
Inter Office/Company interactions with co-workers always to be kept professional
Ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work
Reliable and strong work ethic
Willingness to work in a team environment
High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
Comply with all safety policies and procedures
Ability to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (required)
