This job is based in the community of in Watson Lake the beautiful Yukon.

Who we are
The Yukon's Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) team delivers a wide scope of pre-hospital care. We deliver medical interventions, treatments, and critical care in every corner of the Yukon. Leadership, dedication, and partnership guides our work. We enact these qualities from the moment we receive a call to the time when we transfer a patient at a health care facility.

Your role
As a Community Paramedic, the incumbent will employ professional Primary Care Life Support skills to provide pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical treatment to the Watson Lake area. The incumbent assesses patient condition in order to formulate a treatment plan and to initiate emergency interventions and non-emergency care to provide optimal patient wellbeing. This work is carried out in environments where there is limited medical support.

Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

• Current PCP licence; Emergency Responders will be considered
• Experience delivering pre-hospital medical care at the Primary Care Paramedic level
• Experience working in an emergency ambulance service
• Clinic based practical experience considered an asset
• Experience working in a rural setting is considered an asset

Conditions of employment
You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
TB screening, Vulnerable Sector Check, Valid CPR-HCP certification, Class 4 Drivers Licence (or equivalent), Valid PCP licence (or Current EMR certification will be considered).

This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
Shift work including weekends, wearing a uniform, travel, working in a rural setting, and maintaining all conditions of employment.
