Abbott is recruiting a Business Development and Market Access Manager
Primary Objective of Position:
Act as a strategic market access partner for Belgium and Luxembourg (BELUX) and business areas to ensure the development of strategic market access frameworks such as payer engagement, issue management planning, innovative/financial contracting and negotiating as well as ensuring strategic and systematic engagement of key stakeholders across the BELUX.
Provide inspirational leadership, strategic direction, and management to ensure market share growth achieving or exceeding targets on the long term.
Improve organization' s market position and support achieving financial growth.
Contribution to the development of the ADC BELUX Vision and overall Strategic Business Plan.
Define long-term organizational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate, and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
Serve as an internal 'management consultant' on strategic business development projects and lead strategic commercial projects.
Gives strategic direction around Contracts & Tenders to the management, contract managers and peers as applicable.
Is able to lead strategic negotiations for both contracts and tenders (Government / Sickness funds / Large purchase groups / Hospital groups / Pharmacy networks / Etc…).

Prospect for potential new opportunities and turn this into increased business.
Lead, manage, develop and coach the market access team to achieve or overachieve market share targets and drive profitable growth.
Lead, manage, develop and coach contract managers to be able to drive our business in Contracts & Tenders.
Be the EMEA contact person for BELUX tenders, and participate in the EMEA tender taskforce
Identify, evaluate and ensure timely decisions regarding business development opportunities including ROI analyses.
Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
Manage external relationships and conduct negotiations with influencing stakeholders.
Monitor public payer activities and trends.
Support the business on Identifying potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
Recognize and assess key political and policy issues that may impact ADC and our industry in both the short- and long-term, propose and discuss related actions within the Management Team.
Develop a Contract & Tender strategy for the BELUX market to secure our market share and to grow into new market segments.
Supervise the BELUX Contract and Tender desk to ensure a successful tender submission.
Focus on the impact of public sector trends and initiatives with respect to patient access, reimbursement, and customer satisfaction.
Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback, information on market and creative trends and recommendations on appropriate strategy.
Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
Use knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, economics or equivalent by experience.
Master’s degree in business management (MBA) or health economic background is an asset.
Strong pharmaceutical business understanding including solid understanding of pricing calculations and strategies
Fluent bilingual in both verbal & written English, Dutch and/or English, French
Proficient in MS Office Suits
Broad knowledge of government and private payer reimbursement
Existing network to local market access stakeholders
Minimum 5 years' experience within market access and business development and minimum 7 years' pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
Good grasp of sales and marketing, commercial excellence understanding.
