Job Title: Full-Stack Web Developer (Woo Commerce)
Reports to: Head of Marketing
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Full-Stack Web Developer with extensive experience in Woo Commerce to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of our website. This role requires proficiency in full-stack development, including the creation of scalable applications, database management, and ensuring cross-platform responsiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Woo Commerce Development:
- Develop and maintain custom themes and plugins for Woo Commerce, ensuring alignment with the company’s branding and functionality requirements.
- Customize Woo Commerce functionalities, including payment gateways, product pages, and checkout processes.
- Optimize the Woo Commerce platform for performance, security, and scalability.
- Implement third-party services and APIs for payment processing, inventory management, and shipping.
Front-End Development:
- Develop user-facing features and ensure optimal user experience across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate designs into fully functional web applications.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use and ensure front-end code is optimized for speed.
- Ensure cross-platform responsiveness, mobile-first design, and compatibility with various browsers.
Back-End Development:
- Develop and maintain server-side logic, databases, and Woo Commerce functionalities to support website performance.
- Implement security measures, including regular updates and patches for Woo Commerce and Word Press.
- Optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability, managing caching and load balancing when needed.
- Handle data storage solutions, ensuring the security and integrity of customer and order data.
General Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues within the Woo Commerce platform.
- Stay up-to-date with Woo Commerce and Word Press updates, as well as emerging technologies in the e-commerce space.
- Collaborate with the e-commerce manager, marketing team, and graphic designers to implement new website features and product updates.
- Maintain technical documentation of development processes, including codebases and custom implementations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a full-stack developer working with Woo Commerce and Word Press.
- Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, Java Script, React.js/Angular/Vue.js).
- Proficiency in back-end development with PHP (especially in the context of Word Press and Woo Commerce), database management (My SQL), and API integration.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Woo Commerce core functions, Word Press themes, and plugin development.
- Experience customizing Woo Commerce functionalities (payment gateways, shipping methods, inventory management).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration of third-party services (e.g., payment processors, CRM tools, etc.).
- Knowledge of security best practices, including SSL, data encryption, and website security for Word Press and Woo Commerce.
- Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for Woo Commerce (caching, CDN integration, image compression, etc.).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical team members.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Woo Commerce extensions and plugins (e.g., Woo Commerce Subscriptions, Memberships, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and CDN configuration for Woo Commerce sites.
- Experience with SEO best practices as they relate to Woo Commerce and Word Press development.
