About Us Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Resident Diesel Mechanic to join our Field Service team based in Northern Tasmania (Devonport / Burnie). Reporting to the Service Manager in Launceston, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic, repair and maintenance services to our customer’s equipment. You will also be responsible for:
Autonomously work from your home in Northern Tasmania.
Providing onsite technical support on Hitachi equipment including diagnostics, repair and maintenance
Conduct basic failure analysis and identify specific modes of failure
Providing exceptional customer service to our customers
Ensure your work sites are kept tidy and all paperwork is up to date
Conducting your work in compliance with all quality and safety standards and procedures
To be successful in this role:
Minimum Certificate III in a Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent discipline (Diesel Mechanic).
Commercial Vehicle trades will also be considered.
Previous experience with the assembly, overhaul, repair and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on construction and/or mining equipment.
Ability to work autonomously and proactively solve technical issues
Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and customer service etiquette
