UExcel Medical Recruitment are currently seeking Resident Medical Officers and Senior House Officer's for a major level 3 hospital in TAS, that offers the Work based assessment program.
- General registration ideal however candidates with provisional or LIMITED registration are also encouraged to apply - Supervision level 2 or above
UK doctors who have completed the Foundation years in 2024 are also sought after for these roles.
Rotations available: Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry Orthopaedics, Emergency and rural PHO.
Key skill requirements / competencies
Clinical Responsibilities
- To provide quality medical care under the supervision and direction of Registrars and Senior Medical Staff
- Conduct day to day review of patients
- To ensure comprehensive, accurate and concise medical records are maintained for patients with an appropriate signed and dated legible entry in the patient's medical record on every attendance upon a patient. The Medical Officer should also print his/her name under the signature
- Contribute to quality patient care by participation in case planning which includes appropriate pre-admission planning, in-hospital care and discharge planning
- To provide assistance with surgical procedures and outpatient clinics as directed by the Registrar and/or Consultant to which assigned
- To arrange investigations, surgical treatment, medical treatment and discharge as directed by the Registrar and/or Consultant to which assigned
- To ensure that discharge summaries and other correspondence are completed with minimum delay and that all such correspondence is complete prior to leaving the unit
- Maintain good communications with all areas and disciplines within the health service and with local medical practitioners to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the hospital
- Participate in clinical audit and quality programs as appropriate
- To be "on-call" or participate in shift rosters is a requirement of the

Note if interested in the WBA program:
- YOU are required to work 3 months and receive a satisfactory term assessment/review.
- On completion of 3mths satisfactory performance & AHPRA registration of minimum level 2, YOU may submit an expression of interest to enrol in WBA program
- Currently wait list from EOI is 6 to 9 months
Qualifications / Professional registration / Other requirements
- Current registration or eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Completed PGY2/FY2
- Ability to start Feb 2025 or as soon as registration and VISA are approved.
