About the role:
- Implement Townsville HHS human resource management practise in reference to performance and development, workplace values, behaviours and culture within the Grounds Maintenance Team.
- Liaise with Team Leader and Contractors for quotations and supervise contractor/sub-contractor works for quality/safety.
- Monitor Grounds Team materials and equipment holdings to ensure efficient, effective and safe service delivery.
- Provide input into the formulation of safety policies & procedures of relevance for the Grounds and Gardens
- Ensure works are undertaken with minimal disruption to staff and consumers/visitors.
Role requirements
- Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or an NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
- Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated effectiveness to perform a range of duties in the delivery of Catering, Cleaning, Patient Handling, Linen and Waste Services in a hospital and aged care environments in accordance with the Queensland Health Infection Control Guidelines.
- Ability to carry out duties as a team member and with minimal supervision, prioritising work to ensure deadlines is met in a changing work environment where quality is the main focus.
- Demonstrated high level of customer service skill, displaying honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, visitors and staff.
- Basic understanding of, or ability to acquire knowledge of Human Resource Management issues, including Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination.
