About the role
Woollahra Council is seeking to employ a motivated and reliable Operational Worker to join the Street Cleaning team on a permanent full-time basis.
Working together in a small team, you will be required to perform street cleaning duties, clean-up collection and weeding services to maintain the streets and footpaths throughout the Woollahra Council Local Government Area.
This role is based out our Alexandria Integrated Facility (AIF) depot and commences at 5:00am. You will also be entitled to an additional Cleanup Allowance in addition to your normal rate of pay, when required to complete cleanup collection duties.
About you
To be successful in the role, you will have a good work ethic, enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team and take pride in your work. You will enjoy getting your hands dirty and be physically able to undertake the demands of the role.
Essential Criteria
- Current HR Driver’s Licence or willing to obtain within the first 3 months of employment.
- Currently hold or able to successfully obtain a Construction Induction White Card.
- Proven ability to perform labouring duties including heavy lifting on a regular basis.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a flexible manner.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Proven ability to carry out work in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed to the required standards in a safe and efficient manner.
- Proven performance and ability to achieve objectives and successfully meet project targets.
- Understanding of and commitment to WHS and EEO policies.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to Council’s values.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience with left hand drive vehicles.
- Experience driving a mechanical suction machine.
