Position Classification: Post Graduate Fellow
Employment Type: Temporary Part Time
Hours Per Week: up to 28
Duration: up to 12 months, expected commencement date February 2025
Applicants should have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or have obtained an appropriate higher qualification in his/her specialty acceptable to the Employer. For applicants without Fellowship there is potential to commence as a Provisional Fellow under the Public Hospital Medical Officers Award (Registrar 4th year) and on successful attainment of FRACS or appropriate AHPRA registration transition to a Post Graduate Fellow.
Purpose of the Position
Provide clinical management and treatment of patients undergoing Neurosurgical procedures at RNSH . This care will be provided within the scope of practice endorsed by the NSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC).
The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities within the District.
This position is temporary with the possibility of temporary extension based on performance, funding and need.
Selection Criteria

MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or other recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded FRACS prior to or within 3 months after the advertised contract commencement date will be considered. Applicants with an alternate appropriate higher qualification in his/her specialty may be considered.

- Excellent academic record commensurate with experience, evidence of on-going learning, teaching activities potential involvement with projects and research publications.
