Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd, is Australia’s largest Tin producer. Bluestone is a well-established, high yield tin producer with a strong resource base supporting a mine life in excess of 10 years. The Renison mine is located on Tasmania’s beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery.
About the mine
Renison is currently experiencing an exciting phase of development, characterised by a robust "Life of Mine Plan" and an ongoing commitment to capital reinvestment. This strategic approach is designed to enhance health, safety, environmental sustainability, and operational efficiency. About the role
The Renison Processing Plant consists of a diverse range of processing stages, including a new crushing, screening and ore sorting plant, rod and ball mill grinding, sulphide and oxide flotation, gravity concentration, state-of-the-art 24 stream sampling and on-stream analysis, historian data management system, and concentrate leaching. A feasibility study into tailings retreatment via mineral processing and pyrometallurgical treatment is also currently underway.
We are seeking a highly motivated person who is a flexible team player capable working closely with the Plant Metallurgist and Laboratory staff by monitoring performance of the On-Stream Analyser (OSA)
Reporting to the Metallurgical Superintendent, this role will see you maintain a safe work environment, demonstrate good operating technique and exercise sound decision making.
This position is offered on 7 days on, 7days off roster, 12hrs per shift on a 12mth Fixed Term Contract.
Core responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to proactively enhance your skills and competency levels through further training as required for the role whilst maintaining safety as a priority and actively contributing to metallurgical team. Mechanical aptitude and familiarisation with Microsoft Excel would be an advantage.

Core responsibilities
- Monitor the performance of the On-Stream Analyser (OSA) and individual In Stream Analysis (ISA) probes to ensure that they continue to provide accurate element assays;
- Provide a report on the data to the appropriate standard and ensure that database records are kept up to date;
- Data entry to the metallurgical accounting software;
- Provide routine maintenance of equipment.
- Provide technical support to the processing team
- Ensure test plans are carried out in line with the company requirements
- Ensure daily pre-start checks & calibrations are completed
- Correctly log and monitor test work
- Maintain high emphasis on QHSE
- Contribute to a safe working environment
