ABOUT YWCA DARWIN YWCA NT has been supporting women, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and women from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, in the Territory since 1969. We provide local housing, services and support programs that enable women, their families and other priority groups to find stability and feel safe and secure, so they can build the future they want. ABOUT THIS ROLE We are seeking a casual Kitchen Hand to join our Medical Accommodation Team in Darwin. The pay rate for this role (including casual loading) is $31.76 per hour. The Medical Accommodation program provides clean, safe and appropriate accommodation and meals to guests being supported while undertaking acute care hospital treatment, oncology care services and outpatient appointments. You will assist the Head Chef with:
Day to day food service operations in compliance with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, NT Work Health & Safety legislation and contract requirements
Maintaining cleanliness and condition of kitchen, storage and service areas, and all kitchen equipment
Preparing, cooking, serving, packing, labelling, and transporting meals for the Medical Accommodation program and other catering activities
ABOUT YOU The ideal applicant will have:
Demonstrated high level of personal cleanliness and personal hygiene
Have good level of physical fitness (able to stand for extended periods of time)
Ability to lift up to 10kg
Effective time management skills
Current NT Drivers Licence
This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements. This includes:
Completion of a national criminal history check
A valid relevant state-based working with children permit.
