Job Description
As a member of AACo's Legal team, your role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities, covering both operational and financial processes within AACo. It's all about building bridges and fostering relationships with stakeholders across our business. Plus, you should be ready for some occasional travel to get a closer look at our extensive network of properties.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with our outsource internal audit partner to develop the annual Internal Audit Plan and define the scope of internal audit engagements, and provide support in coordinating activities and engaging with the right people
Prepare and present management reports on internal audit results, recommendations, and agreed actions
Work closely with our external auditor to ensure their recommendations are communicated and tracked alongside internal audit findings
Conduct follow-up reviews to monitor management's progress in addressing audit recommendations
Independently plan, execute, and report on assurance activities to complement the annual Internal Audit plan conducted by our outsource provider
Identify opportunities to enhance internal controls and streamline processes, collaborating with operational stakeholders to implement improvements
Maintain a repository of standard operating procedures and essential internal controls to enhance audit efficiency and support risk management
Stay up-to-date with the latest internal audit and compliance best practices, tools, and techniques
Periodically monitor and report on the performance of the outsource Internal Audit partner
Review, update, and maintain compliance systems, records, and processes within AACo
Support the identification of key compliance obligations and emerging compliance requirements impacting AACo
Maintain visibility over compliance workflows managed by our operations teams
Desired Skills and Experience
We're looking for someone with:
5+ years of experience in internal or external audit in an ASX-listed or professional services environment
Experience in a similar role within the rural, agri-business, or FMCG industries is a bonus
Demonstrated ability to work with and influence senior management stakeholders
A solid understanding of the end-to-end audit process
To excel in this role, you should possess:
An IIA, CA, or CPA qualification (desirable)
A graduate qualification in business, accounting, or a related discipline (required)
Self-driven team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills
