Tasks and Responsibilities
Operating a forklift to load and unload freight in a safe and timely manner
Responsible for the processing of general freight from beginning to end
Manual handling up to 15 KG
Opening freight and checking contents against the clients’ order, in particular, ensuring correct quantity, quality and types of items have been received
Ensuring correct labelling of goods, including identification of dangerous goods
Ensuring all items are scanned to correct staging areas
Preparation of outgoing freight ensuring that goods are secured and packed safely for dispatch
Data entry of received freight into the clients preferred computerisation system (SAP, Oracle and Pronto)
Report any discrepancies to the relevant assigned personnel
Requirements of the role
Current Forklift Licence (LF) - preferred but no essential
Preferred experience with general freight or warehousing
Good reliability and punctuality at work
Capacity to lift and carry heavy objects
Ability to take direction from management and supervisors
Preferred scanning experience
Customer service and communication skills
Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, and RIPPA values
