As our company is growing (which we are very excited about!), an opportunity has emerged for an experienced Client Services Rostering coordinator to join our team.
THDS provides 24/7 services includes nursing, personal care, in-home support, domestic and community participation supporting those who are living with a disability and/or mental illness. THDS provides care services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme. We are a specialist provider in the psychosocial field of care and supports.
About the Role:
In your role as Rostering Officer, the primary focus of the role is the use of client management software in the rostering of staff, along with general administration.
You will also assist in the coordination of client services and the running of the day to day operations of the office. From time to time you are also expected to be able to assist other staff as the facilities may require.
This role is crucial to the proper functioning of the provision of care to the clients of Trusting Hands Disability Services and you are always expected to undertake your work in a respectful and cordial manner.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Roster Creation and Maintenance: Use our rostering software to create and maintain staff rosters, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, award agreements, and service needs.
  • Shift Allocation: Manage staff availability, preferences, and qualifications when allocating shifts.
  • Staffing Solutions: Proactively address staffing gaps and shortages to ensure continuity of care.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyse rostering data to identify areas for improvement and optimise efficiency.
  • Communication: Liaise with Management, Service Delivery Leads, Team Leaders, and staff to address rostering concerns and feedback.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all rostering activities.
  • Legislation Awareness: Stay informed of changes in legislation and award agreements impacting rostering practices.
  • Onboarding: Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees into the rostering system.
  • Efficiency Recommendations: Analyse data related to rostering efficiency and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to teams on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Work Environment: Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a rostering role in the disability services industry, and show compassion for those living with various life challenges, including interacting with people living with mental illness and disabilities.
Role Essentials:
  • An understanding of the NDIS
  • Thorough understanding of the SCHADS award
  • Minimum of 2 years concurrent rostering experience in disability/aged care
  • Work well as part as a team as well as be highly functioning to work independently
  • Unfazed by unforeseen changes due to illness, conflicts, changes in rosters -with the ability to ‘foresee’ and build contingency capacity into the master roster.
  • Excellent time management skills – responding to service requests, participant and internal enquiries
  • Participate in on-call after hours roster
  • High levels of data entry accuracy & attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills inc. Excel & google sheets
  • Ability to sustain focus on detailed work and maintain information systems accurately.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Possess NDIS Worker screening card, WWVP & WWCC card
