Hours: This position is part-time (0.8FTE), fixed-term until 30/06/2025 Location: Operating out of the headspace Edinburgh North site with a hybrid working arrangement available. About the Role:
As an Employment Specialist your overall function is to assist young people (up to 25 years old) who volunteer for the program to find and retain competitive employment. The Employment Specialist will facilitate intensive individualised support. With a case load at a maximum of 20 active clients this allows the Employment Specialist the freedom and flexibility to support the young person in a way that is currently rare within the vocational sector.
The role undertakes assertive outreach work combined with youth engagement to ensure young people are well supported and are linked with suitable employment opportunities. The role involves actively developing contacts with employers, educational institutions and community service organisations to improve the vocational outcomes for young people accessing the service. Experience Requirements:
Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment;
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, career development or a related field.
Experience in working with youth, families, agencies and communities.
Experience providing career-planning advice to young people.
An understanding of the Individual Placement and Support model
Experience working with people experiencing mental ill-health
Qualification and Other Requirements:
Drivers Licence
Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
Knowledge and experience in using the Microsoft suite of software and databases
An appropriate qualification in a relevant field is desirable but not essential
Eligible for membership to the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA) desirable but not essential
