The Role
As an EL1 in the DPG People & ERP Business Readiness (DPBR) Directorate within HR Transformation (HRT) Branch, you will work as part of a fun, collaborative and innovative team.
Within the DPBR team, you will:
- Interact with various stakeholders to implement Defence’s HR Transformation Program and Education and Training reform.
- Develop high quality, ministerial, governance and corporate material (e.g. briefs, talking points, governance products).
- Develop Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program communication collateral tailored for both enterprise and Defence People Group (DPG) audiences.
- Lead a small cross-functional team.
- Provide hands-on implementation, communication and change management support.
- Support DPG staff to transition to the Defence ERP solution.
- Represent DPG equities at various forums and proactively undertake strategic analysis to manage and mitigate related program risks, issues and sensitives.

About our Team
The HRT Branch administers Defence’s HR Transformation Program (HRTP) which is responsible for delivering HR and Education and Training reform under Defence’s ERP program, helping to build a new One Defence People System, and improving Defence’s HR operating model. The Branch supports DPG’s transition to Defence’s ERP Program, develop and deliver HR and Education Training reform initiatives, manage DPG’s ICT projects and HR Information System Roadmap, and is the steward of Defence’s ERP HR data.
The Branch supports three strategic Defence priorities:
- Defence Strategic Review (DSR) –Support Defence’s investment in the growth and retention of a highly skilled workforce, and simplifying and improving HR systems and processes.
- One Defence People System Deliver a single integrated HR operating model to help Defence people.
- Defence 2022-26 Corporate Plan – Defence becoming an employer of choice, attracting and retaining talented and skilled people from across Australia to the ADF and APS. DPG People and ERP Business Readiness Directorate leads the Branch’s HRTP reform implementation, communication and change management function. This includes, but not limited to, supporting DPG staff to transition to Defence ERP, proactively driving business and industry readiness, and managing / delivering related functions (e.g. ERP Transition Action Plan, role mapping, DPG support).
