The Opportunity
Department Assistant - Performing Arts & Grace Academy, reporting to the Head of Department, to provide clerical and practical support to classroom music, dance & drama staff and to provide administration assistance to Grace Academy.
Duties Include
> Administrative tasks associated with Grace Academy events.
> Reception duties.
> Supervising students and equipment at recess and lunch rehearsals and as required on excursions and at events/performances.
> Management of the digital video evidence for senior curriculum subjects.
> Assisting in the organisation of Year 7 Performing Arts Day.
> Manage and maintain records for purchased Music, Dance, Drama curriculum equipment.
> Sorting, clearing, storing and stock take of resources (in Drama and Dance) and maintenance of the asset register.
> Record keeping of equipment borrowing.
> Administrative tasks associated with tuition program including upload of assistance with timetables and roll-marking, liaising with finance for invoicing, set-up of reporting & room bookings.
About you
This position would suit someone with commitment to the ethos, Christian values and teachings of the College. The suitable candidate will also have:
- Demonstrated competence and confidence in using a personal computer and relevant software packages eg Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Access (Confident experience in Word/Excel required).
- Reception skills.
- Understanding of Sheet music preferred.
- Knowledge and prior use of the College Administration package (TASS) would be an advantage;
- Knowledge of general office and administrative procedures and equipment.
- Working with Children accreditation (Blue Card) or ability to obtain this accreditation.
- Proven ability to work unsupervised, meet deadlines, set priorities, be well-organized and able to work under pressure and constant interruptions.
- Demonstrated good level of communication and interpersonal skills when relating to staff, students and the wider College Community.
- Demonstrated understand of WH&S policies and procedures.
- Tertiary qualification at Certificate level preferred.
