How will I help? The Risk family plays a critical role in identifying, monitoring and managing a range of risks across our diverse operating environment. As the Data Lead, you will be involved in analysing the data impacts of UNITE onto GBUs and providing advice to maximise solutions, delivery efficiency and sequencing. Your accountabilities include:
Ensure the project meets the needs of the customer and business and aligns to overall strategy
Support the elicitation, prioritisation and validation of requirements and design of business processes to meet the needs of GBU UNITE and Westpac Group.
Apply a varied suite of analytical and problem-solving techniques to abstract information and requirements from various stakeholders.
Source system data analysis to prepare requirement specification and data mapping to target systems to support GBU Capabilities.
Assess change impacts to requirements across multiple and complex streams when new needs or solutions are identified ensuring alignment with scope, change strategy and project timelines without strong management guidance.
Define and drive ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ process discussions.
Construct Traceability Matrices to demonstrate an end-to-end delivery of the solution and how it aligns with user requirements and/or compliance obligations.
Provide recommendations for process re-design and improvements and business solutions, enable changes to processes, policy and/or information that enable Westpac to achieve targeted business outcomes and deliver business value.
Support the development of Business Requirement Documents, Business Process Specifications, including Functional / Non-Functional Specifications or the equivalent Agile deliverable (user stories and use cases), that will drive the desired change to business operations and system enhancement / development activities.
Review and update documentations considering any new information and/or changes to initial scope, assumptions, including implications for project time, cost, quality and risk.
Support Change Management and IT teams in testing, training and implementation activities to ensure the successful delivery of the overall business and technology solutions.

What do I need?
Proven experience working with large data integration projects, data analysis for 3+ years including intermediate knowledge of SQL databases, query languages and conceptual data modelling.
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
Proven experience working with data management including CDE data lineage, Business Data Flows & Control Assessments.
Proven experience in Agile delivery (2+ year), including supporting tools, e.g. Jira / Confluence.
Facilitation of business solution workshops involving participants from senior management to business users.
Strong stakeholder management experience working with senior stakeholders and external vendors.
Extensive experience in business process improvement / re-engineering; data analysis; functional / non-functional analysis; and business case preparation and development.
Presentation skills to high quality and speed: Power Point critical and other tools advantageous.
A strong understanding of technology and business systems, strategically and operationally.
