We are seeking a Clinical Coder to join our Nepean team who has a passion for maintaining ethical coding practices and participating in quality activities. Using your Clinical Coder experience, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely coding of inpatient episodes of care, in accordance with the Australian coding standards and other relevant documents. What you will bring to the role
- Successful completion of a VETAB accredited Clinical Coding Course or Bachelor in Health Information Management (Medical Record Librarian / Administrator) and extensive coding experience in a tertiary hospital
- Experience in clinical coding using ICD-10-AM and sound knowledge of current Australian Coding Standards
- Demonstrated experience in using computerised patient data bases, electronic medical record and clinical systems
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change
- Demonstrated written English and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to working in a team and achieving team goals
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise own workload to ensure daily benchmarks are met
- Commitment to continuing professional development and to working in a continuous quality environment
