Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Behaviour Support Practitioner to work within our Outreach Anglicare SA Therapeutic Services (OATS) team, to provide life changing support to our valued customers. Calling upon your knowledge and expertise in disability, you will be joining a highly collaborative team of Behaviour Support Practitioners to develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
If you are passionate about providing Positive Behaviour Support services across the lifespan, working with stakeholders to provide education and support in restrictive practice and behaviour support, and enjoy working 1:1 with individuals to improve their overall quality of life, we would love to hear from you!
This is a part-time, fixed-term contract for two days per week until 31 October 2025 covering maternity leave. Best suited for someone already working part-time or seeking additional flexible hours to complement their current schedule.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Work within a highly collaborative team of Behaviour Support Practitioners focused on providing person-centred strategies in a holistic approach to improve the quality of life of people living with disabilities
• Complete functional behaviour assessments and develop Positive Behaviour Support Plans in consultation with customers, families, and relevant stakeholders.
• Undertake clinical assessments and provide practice advise/support to aide in the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices.
• Support the effective implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans by providing training and intensive support to families and stakeholders.
• Complete needs assessments, NDIA review reports and deliver 1:1 therapy session to customers to support with skill development and setting up their environment to meet their needs

What do you need to bring?

• Tertiary qualification in Behavioural Science, Developmental Education, Social Work or relevant allied health/education field that will allow for registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (essential).
• Current registration with the DEAI or relevant professional body.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and working with people with a disability in a therapeutic capacity.
• Solid understanding of NDIS funding packages and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission/regulated restrictive practice.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, families and other service providers.
