Assistant in Nursing – Haemodialysis Unit
Tamworth Hospital

About the role:
In this role you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, supporting patients undergoing haemodialysis treatments in the dialysis unit under the supervision of skilled Nephrology Nurses.
You will play a key role in the smooth operation of the unit, assisting with the setup and operation of haemodialysis machines, ensuring accurate clinical and machine observations, and delivering hands-on support throughout the treatment process.
You will be responsible for maintaining a well-stocked unit, organising equipment for each patient's session and ensuring all supplies are readily available. Your contributions will directly enhance the care experience for patients, making you a valuable part of the multidisciplinary team.

  • The Tamworth Haemodialysis Unit is a modern 17-chair facility at Tamworth Hospital, operating two shifts six days a week to serve patients with End Stage Kidney Disease. The unit also offers acute haemodialysis services for the Intensive Care Unit and provides Plasmapheresis treatments.
  • You will become part of our small, cohesive and highly supportive team that values and recognises the important role each member plays in delivering quality care.

  • You will have well-developed clinical skills and the ability to report any clinical concerns efficiently to the trained nursing staff.
  • You will be patient-centred and able to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.


Additional information:

  • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.
  • Interviews are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday 8th October 2024.
  • Job share / part time arrangements will be considered.
  • To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
