About the Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Workabout Centre, the Team Leader (Workabout Centre) is required to plan, deliver and contribute to the development and implementation of strategic programs, projects and initiatives that support improved learning and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people.
The position will provide project management leadership and expert advice to ensure specialised Aboriginal education programs are delivered on time, within budget and meet program outcomes.
The Team Leader (Workabout Centre) is accountable for line management and coordination of program staff that are aligned to their area of responsibility. The role will work closely with senior staff to initiate and formulate agency wide projects and manages and coordinates the development and implementation of strategic projects and initiatives within the context of the Department for Education's Aboriginal Education Strategy. The role is also required to monitor the performance of these specialised programs to ensure continuous program improvement and improved outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people.
The Team Leader (Workabout Centre) is also required to provide tactical advice for senior management and executive within the Department and across government. The environment can at times be politically sensitive in relation to Aboriginal affairs and governance. The position requires extremely high levels of confidentiality and is subject to periods of high workload and changing priorities.

Qualifications:
Desirable: An appropriate tertiary qualification.

Special Conditions:

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:

ASO7 $108,109 - 116,864 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation.
