The available position is for Aquaculture Production Manager
This is a senior position reporting to the General Manager, and pivotal to the ongoing success of our diversified business.
You will be part of the management team overseeing all stages of freshwater production of Atlantic salmon.
Your specific focus would be on all aspects of broodstock and smolt production at our two commercial hatchery sites in central Tasmania.
You will be required to lead a team of 12 to 15 staff to achieve key production outcomes set in consultation with the General Manager and Hatchery Manager.
You will be leading daily planning of tasks within RAS and flow-through production systems to ensure optimal operation, as well as ensuring the upkeep of various plant equipment within SALTAS’s biosecurity and WHS framework.
A high level of competency and knowledge of the components of a modern RAS systems would be beneficial.
Comprehensive training will be provided as needed towards achieving mastery over each system.
Working with rest of management group on stock flows and production planning.

This is a full-time position. Due to the remote location of the main operational sites, flexible working arrangements will be considered including options to work some days remotely from our Kingborough-based office.
