About the Role We are seeking APS3 Analysts to contribute to a range of work at the Centre for Population, which may include demographic forecasts, analysis and policy advice. The successful candidates will bring an enthusiasm and aptitude for public policy, demographic analysis and/or modelling, with strong communication and engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. The successful candidates will have a range of responsibilities working under the supervision of experienced APS staff, potentially including:
undertaking modelling and data analysis tasks
conducting research and analysis, and providing population policy advice
assisting in the preparation of reports, briefings to Treasury Ministers, submissions to Cabinet, speeches, replies to parliamentary questions and correspondence.
have a background in a quantitative field, such as demographics, statistics, mathematics, psychology, urban planning, economics, econometrics, accounting or similar.
be interested in the development or application of demographic and economic models and techniques.
Experience in demographic or economic modelling is not essential, noting that we offer training to new staff.
