Star Phones Australia is an exclusively growing mobile phone repair & accessories business with 40 stores across Australia. Our company is looking for people who can grow and deliver in a rapid and constantly evolving environment. We are currently looking for a Junior Accountant who has the capacity to learn and live with our values.
About the role:
As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments, and reimbursements. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and contributing to process improvements. Here's how you'll do it:
Receive, review, and process invoices from suppliers and vendors. Verify invoice accuracy, appropriate approvals, and general ledger coding before payment.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions, ensuring that discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Conduct reconciliations and manage month-end accruals.
Foster open communication and knowledge sharing within the team to support a collaborative work environment.
Actively manage risk and ensure compliance with compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulations.
Generate reports related to accounts payable, including aging reports, payment status, and other financial data as required.
Review and improve invoicing processes, demonstrating enhancements to the Accounts Payable Team.
Assist with employee expense queries, audit credit card expenses, and manage cash advances.
What you'll bring
Good practical accounts payable knowledge and communication skills
Accounting/finance qualification at certificate level or higher desirable
Ability to perform supplier statement reconciliation.
Independently apply knowledge and experience to resolving problems in any of the areas of responsibility.
Set priorities in a demanding environment where there are conflicting requirements.
Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, and data analysis.
Experience With Accounting Software (MYOB, XERO)

Pay: $50,000.00 – $52,000.00 per year
