Qualifications & Experience
- Passion for and knowledge of the food industry
- Experience in a busy kitchen environment, at least 1 years
- Experience with western and desire to explore Asian cuisine, with the view to work with fusion cuisine
- Ability to maintain calm under pressure, multitask and display effective organisation and communication with team members
- Excellent time management and teamwork skills
- A desire to work in a professional, disciplined environment
- A drive for knowledge and career development
- Desired education background: Certificate IV Commercial Cookery & Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent desired
Responsibilities:
- Lead a kitchen team and display practiced and efficient kitchen management
- Undertake the preparation and cooking of meals on shift as required
- Portion and label produce before cooking, chilling and distribution
- Take lead in menu planning as per restaurant’s direction
- Assist, train and guide new and junior staff
- Undertake and manage kitchen cleaning every shift or as necessary
- Take responsibility for produce ordering and kitchen organisation as required
- Accept, adhere and promote Workplace Health and Safety requirements, appropriate standards and risk management guidelines

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
