The Billing Manager is responsible for ensuring all activities related to specialized billing are performed in accordance with Company policies and procedures, providing quality customer service. Manager will closely interact with other Divisional departments and Regional Company personnel related to specialized billings. This position will provide assistance to Regional Companies in order to help effectively maximize sales growth and profitability. This position will provide leadership and direction to a multi-faceted team in order to achieve the goals of the organization. This will require a seasoned professional with excellent managerial skills and experience in specialized and high volume billing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively manage the Third Party Billing and Special Handling teams to achieve timely and accurate customer billings.
Establish goals, evaluations, positive feedback, discipline, and on-going coaching ensuring activities are performed within department and Company policy.
Manage the resolution of issues related to customer billing, escalating problems as needed to BSC and Regional management teams.
Monitor/measure performance, including monthly metrics and provide support/reporting to the Divisional, BSC, and Regional management teams.
Oversee and ensure the completion of the billing process, including drop ship billings, progressive pay billings and special billings.
Ensure proper cutoff of billings, including month end sales accruals.
Ability to review a variety of reports, documents, and online data systems to research and resolve billing exceptions, errors and problems.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with the Regional Company presidents, AVPs, finance teams, sales team, and other key personnel.
Monitor/manage pricing performance impacts related to daily processing and strategic initiatives.
Develop, implement and monitor procedures to ensure cost effective work flow in billing processing, investigate methods of improving the capabilities of the organization through changes in structure, technology or method.

The Billing Manager will have established a proven track record of success in leading a high volume billing department and/or specialized billing process

Strong mentoring and staff development skills are required.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and juggle between Divisional, local and Corporate management demands.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, accounting degree preferred.

5+ years of experience in accounting or billing managerial/supervisory positions of increasing responsibility, including leadership positions, preferably with multi-industry knowledge.

Experience with sales cutoff and creating sales accruals.

Experience researching and resolving billing errors.

Management experience including people development skills and leadership qualities.

Intermediate computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, experience with SAP and/or ERP systems a plus.
