YMCA Pool Attendants

The Pool Attendantis critical to pool safety at the Y and is responsible for assisting Lifeguards with the supervision and personal safety of individuals using the pools and surrounding areas.

In this role, you can look forward to:

Communicatingwith patrons regarding properuse of water features and the pool to help assure overall safety.
Assisting Certified Lifeguards with ensuringsafety in and around the pool areaby being knowledgeable about all safety rules and procedures, observing patrons and communicating or redirecting as needed.
Helping to maintain a clean, safe pool area.
Communicatingappropriately with members, patrons, parents, children and staff members.
Attending and be an active participant at staff meetings.

Part Time, Shifts Available:

Saturday, 1:00 pm-3:00 pm, 3:00 pm-6:00 pm
Sunday, 10:00 am-2:00 pm, 2:00 pm-6:00 pm

We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Comfort with being in an Aquatics environment and an interest in helping keep patrons safe required. CPR &First Aid Certification and Child Abuse prevention training courses must be completed within 90 days of hire and are provided by the YMCA. This position is open to candidates ages 14 and older.

The First International Bank & Trust Family Splash Center at the YMCA opened in April 2019. The warm water, renovatedpool will offerwater slidesand play features, swim lessons, fitness classes and lap swim, therapeutic jets for hydro therapy, and Birthday Party program & space.
