COMPENSATION: $43,434-$54,292 based on directly related experience.

The XR for VR Career Coach will lead efforts to recruit, support, and coach youth and adults with disabilities, guiding them through education and employment pathways in manufacturing and related industries. This position will build strong partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and campus services to ensure a seamless transition into fulfilling careers for program participants.

Key Responsibilities
Recruit and Support Underserved Populations
  • Develop and implement outreach and retention strategies for diverse student populations.
  • Screen applicants, maintain confidentiality, and track grant-related data.
  • Provide individualized career coaching, goal setting, and progress monitoring.
  • Coordinate with campus and community resources to support participant success.
  • Design and implement retention initiatives using tools like Early Alert Systems to ensure program completion.
Outreach to Industry and Community Organizations
  • Collaborate with the Academic Dean and Project Director to create education and employment pathways tailored for adults with disabilities.
  • Foster relationships with businesses to gain feedback on participant success and employment strategies.
  • Build partnerships with community organizations to streamline access to support services.
  • Represent the program at career fairs, job fairs, and community events.
Administrative and Miscellaneous Duties
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and accurate communication with stakeholders.
  • Partner with Public Affairs to create promotional materials and share program success stories.
  • Stay informed on grant policies and recommend process improvements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field or Associate’s degree and two years of work experience in business, education, psychology, communications, social sciences, health sciences, trades, or related field.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a customer service focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of career planning and employment search processes, tools, and resources.
  • An understanding of community support services and how to access them.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, electronic email, and calendar) and the internet.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work both independently and as a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with underserved populations.
  • Experience working in a community college.
  • Experience working with grants.
