JOB SUMMARY: The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for driving all day to day operations of the distribution center, with direct accountability for leading, motivating and coaching their teams. The Warehouse Supervisor will manage and drive goals through their front-line team to meet and exceed safety, delivery, receiving, quality and budgets while adhering to the company’s values. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive and monitor warehouse KPI’s to meet or exceed targets
Overall accountability of warehouse day to day safety, quality, productivity and process improvement initiatives
Execute to budget in the areas of labor (hours and cost), packaging, maintenance, purchasing of supplies, vendor management and other associated costs
Preparation of reports for upper management (e.g. employee productivity, quality and safety performance reports, departmental processes, etc.)
Maintain a clean, safe working environment for all associates by – enforcing CAYGO (Clean as you go)
Responsible for ensuring all equipment, areas and building structures are inspected daily with preventative maintenance scheduled and completed
Ensures all associates are issued and wear required PPE (Personal protective equipment); all safety policies and procedures are adhered to;
Reports all unsafe conditions and injuries and completes any injury/incident reporting is completed within 24 hrs
Leads department activities and special projects to ensure efficiency and quality
Assist, participate and support in any external company sales events
Partner with WH Manager to drive changes and improvements to standard operating procedures, work instructions, and other documented training
Support the ongoing efforts of Lean Management Operations within the facility, including reiterating a “6S” culture through ensuring the warehouse docks are clean and organized
SME of the facility’s ERP & warehouse management system if applicable
Directly lead, manage, coach, & develop your direct reports in accordance with company policies and procedures
Ensure your team has the training, tools and support to effectively manage front-line associates
Provide ongoing mentorship, cross-training, and development of team members under your supervision
Conduct performance reviews and coaching
Responsible for participating in interviewing, selecting, and hiring warehouse personnel
Manage employee relations and corrective action issues
Communicate to warehouse manager daily goals, performance feedback and departmental initiatives
Effectively communicate in an accurate and timely manner to upper management as required
Performs other duties, as assigned
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor’s/4-year degree preferred or 4+ years of progressive leadership experience required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other job-related applications (ability to utilize Pivot Tables and VLookup is preferred)
Knowledge of distribution: logistics, fulfillment, operations, and facilities
Strong track record of leading, developing talent and empowering team members to succeed
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently is required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Ability to identify and communicate complex issues
Problem-solving and decision-making is required
Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities to complete individual and group tasks
Maintain elevated performance under pressure to meet the company’s expectations and displays the ability to address stressful situations in a manner that is professional, and measured
Use interpersonal skills to help build a cohesive team and facilitate the completion of team goals
Read, analyze, and interpret regulations and procedures
Basic understanding of OSHA guidelines
Ability to lift 50lbs
Ability to operate all MHE at the warehouse
