Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate works with the Warehouse Management and Drivers to maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring that all vehicles are cleaned after each delivery.
Essential Functions:
- Accurately picks customer orders for shipping, ensuring correct items and quantities.
- Prepares pallets for shipping by consolidating merchandise in an organized manner.
- Places merchandise according to customer requests when feasible and reasonable.
- Assists with merchandise rotation in customer establishments to ensure freshness.
- Provides outstanding customer service by being honest, polite, courteous, and helpful.
- Helps drivers with blind spots while driving or parking vehicles to ensure safety.
- Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of delivery trucks.
Required Education and Experience:
- At least one year of previous experience in warehouse environments.
- Working knowledge of warehouse processes.
- Effective time management and strong teamwork skills.
- Prior warehouse experience, preferably in a food distribution environment.
- Valid VI driver’s license preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical demands include sitting, bending, listening, reaching, seeing, standing, walking and lifting. These skills need to be performed daily.
- Equipment used in the job includes a truck, hand truck, and forklift.
- Very heavy lifting of up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 50 or more pounds.
