In this role, you'll work directly with employees while also working hands-on to maintain productivity in the department. This includes loading and unloading materials with a forklift, assisting team members in preparing pallets for shipment, monitoring attendance, and being the first point of contact for questions and issues. Primary Responsibilities
Primary backup for Kitting Operations Manager
Oversee all kitting associates (both temporary agency workers and Morrisette employees)
Assist in onboarding & training new team members for the kitting room
Build a team environment in the department including weekly team meetings
Help identify department personnel to take on additional responsibilities
Coordinate reporting of daily production and information to purchasing and other departments
Includes inbound receiving/components
Includes outbound finished goods/work order creation/quota counts
Ensure production goals are met in each work cell
Assist in cycle counting
Ensure internal use supplies are pulled and accounted for
Assist in setup & training of new equipment acquisitions for kitting dept
Assist in finding efficiencies and lowering labor costs for projects
Promote a safe working environment, reporting safety hazards, safety training, and enforcing use of PPE
Ensure kitting dept is kept clean and organized and all equipment is safety checked & maintained.
Performs other duties as required.
Skills & Abilities
Must be hardworking, trustworthy, dependable, and safety-conscious
Proficient in operating a computer including email and MS Excel, Google Sheets, etc.
Able to work independently with little or no supervision
Operate all required MHE (forklift, pallet jack, reach truck)
Strong organizational & time management skills, with crucial attention to detail.
Goal-oriented self-starter who takes initiative and acts appropriately in various circumstances without direction.
Ability to lift and carry up to sixty (60) pounds.
Hardworking and extremely reliable.
Must be able to stand for long periods
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to make quick, accurate, and complete decisions while always considering what is in the best interest of the company.
Education & Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
2+ years of warehouse supervisory experience
Certified forklift operator
Prior general warehouse shipping and receiving experience
