VP of Older Adult Services and Economic Development

MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS A VP OF OLDER ADULT SERVICES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
As the VP of Older Adult Services and Economic Development at Elmcor, you will report directly to the Chief Program Officer and play a pivotal role in the senior leadership team. Your responsibilities will include translating the agency's strategic vision into actionable plans, overseeing program success, and evaluating program effectiveness to enhance participant outcomes. Leading a team of dedicated professionals, including the Assistant Director and Program Coordinators, you will drive service delivery excellence to ensure optimal results and sustainable funding diversification.
ARE YOU THE VP OF OLDER ADULT SERVICES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
The successful candidate for the VP of Older Adult Services and Economic Development position at Elmcor will possess a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Human Services, Social Sciences, Public Health, Business/Public Administration, or a related field. A minimum of five years of leadership experience in a nonprofit, government, or philanthropy setting overseeing multiple programs is required, ideally within an organization serving diverse communities. Key skills include demonstrated accomplishments in senior management, effective team leadership, commitment to social justice principles, program development and management expertise, strategic thinking, strong communication skills, budget and grant management proficiency, ability to analyze complex data, and a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building and managing effective teams, implementing anti-racism principles, mentoring management staff, and connecting programs to organizational goals. This role requires sound judgment, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a collaborative approach to team dynamics and organizational culture.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in a senior management role with a proven track record in building and managing effective teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of anti-racism and human justice and experience in implementing these principles in program areas.
  • Effective team leadership and managing change skills while balancing competing priorities strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach management staff members and coordinate between multiple programmatic areas.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working for social justice reduction of health disparities and racial equity.
  • Experience in program development and management and have a sophisticated understanding of and interest in Elmcor's older adult and economic development public policy and program areas.
  • A strategic mindset and ability to connect programs to organizational goals and outcomes.
  • Proven results leveraging available resources effectively to meet program objectives and exceptional program
  • budgetand grant management skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment make timely decisions and advise staff on multiple projects priorities and deadlines while providing timely comprehensive feedback.
  • Possess a proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and an interest in building a strong organizational culture.
  • Display excellent and versatile oral and written communications skills including the ability to summarize detailed information.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and compile complex data for planning and reporting purposes.
  • Demonstrate an ability to demonstrate respect professionalism and sound judgment clearly and consistently with all people.
  • Exercise high and strict levels of confidentiality and use professional judgment and discretion.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Human Services,Social Sciences,Public Health Business/Public Administration or a related field is strongly desired
  • A minimum of five years leadership experience in a nonprofit,government or philanthropy overseeing multiple programs or contracts ideally at an organization serving diverse communities.
