We are looking for dynamic and engaging teachers to deliver our programs on Archdiocese school campuses in the LA area.
As an Instructor at Sylvan, your primary responsibilities are: Just Teaching. No Lesson Plans. No Preparation.

We offer competitive compensation with rates ranging from $23-$25/hour. ADDITIONAL $10 travel stipend is provided PER DAY that travel is made to a school site.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Supervise, interact with, and motivate students in the classroom.
  

• Reward students for completed assignments to help build their confidence.
  

• Evaluate and document student progress to help track their growth.
  

• Communicate student needs to the center director to ensure individual learning plans.
  

• Inspire and develop a rapport with students to help them reach their full potential.
  

• Establish a fun learning environment that fosters creativity and confidence.

• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan to inspire students.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
We are seeking candidates with:

• 2 years of experience teaching or tutoring on a school campus is required
• State or provincial teaching credentials preferred
• Ability to teach general math through pre-algebra
• A fun and enthusiastic teaching style, ability to motivate students, and positive attitude
