We are looking for a Sushi Chef to join our culinary team and prepare delicious sushi items for our guests. Sushi Chef responsibilities include handling a wide range of raw fish and other ingredients, managing food stock, and working with attention to detail to fulfill all orders within quality standards.
Sushi Chef Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
Prepare all types of sushi menu items according to restaurant recipes.
Prepare ingredients for the day’s usage.
Ensure great presentation of all menu items.
Coordinate with wait and kitchen staff to ensure proper cooking and proper timing.
Prepare appetizers and salads according to recipes.
Monitor food inventory and re-stock/prep as needed.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly and at the correct temperature.
Assist other team members in other areas of the restaurant.
Help in the unloading of deliveries.
Adhere to all food safety standards.
Sushi Chef Qualifications/Skills:
Work experience at an Asian style restaurant a plus.
Knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques a plus.
Comfortable with managing competing priorities in a fast-paced restaurant setting.
Ability to multi-task.
Knowledge of food safety procedures preferred.
Ability to work efficiently with all kitchen equipment.
Ability to work in collaboration with team members.
